What Is School of the Soul?
The School of the Soul houses a living tradition of ancient wisdom handed down orally by practitioners of the theurgic lineage and adapted to the spirit of the age. It has been running at the Inner Quest Foundation for more than four decades. Our worldwide network of spiritual organisations is tasked with nourishing the inner life of each generation of spiritual seekers so that they may grow in nature, humanity, and spiritual awareness.
The aim of the School of the Soul
is to support the development of committed individuals around the world who are drawn to the theurgic tradition. Theurgy may be defined as the art of creating connection between the material world and the unseen, uniting the divine power with the human being
Contemporary seekers are often disillusioned with formal religion, academic philosophy, and the dominance of scientific technology. They are seeking non-dogmatic esoteric instruction that connects with their living experience. The School of the Soul meets this challenge and welcomes all who feel the inner call toward the Divine — the return to the One.
Why Is School of the Soul important?
In both theoretical and applied spiritual development, an individual can only progress so far on their own without knowledgeable guidance. Beyond a certain point, the esoteric path toward the unknown can become obscure and the inexperienced seeker may unknowingly move beyond their depth. There are inherent potential disturbances to the psyche without experienced direction. At this threshold, experienced guidance is essential to both their wellbeing and their inner development.
